August 5     Ted Caldwell presents, 5 Hotels of the Narrows

“Five Hotels of the Narrows” is a historical presentation by Bolton Landing historian Ted Caldwell focusing on the iconic  luxury resorts that populated the Lake George Narrows region.

The presentation highlights the history of these now vanished landmarks, and the era they represented.

The talk covers the history of these early 19th-century hotels which were typically boat-accessible, grand, often secluded hotels that once defined the area’s often-overlooked tourism.

These hotels were historically significant for being accessible only by water in the late 1800s and early 1900s, according to local history.

About the Speaker: Edgar M. Caldwell, (Ted) is a retired builder and educator and is currently the Town of Bolton Historian.  He has a B.A. in Economics from the College of Wooster and an M.S. Ed. in Administration and Supervision from the State University of New York.

This program is available in person at the LGLC office (Registration) and online (Zoom Link).
