Discovery Series: National Trails Day, Intro to Hiking

June 6 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
An orange plastic disk is nailed to a tree, text says "Orange Trail." A trail's rock steps show in the background, in a wooded scene.

The Adirondacks are a unique and special place that we can all work together to protect. Celebrate National Trails Day ® by learning how you can be a steward of the land. Learn about best practices for outdoor recreation and the Leave No Trace Principles as you hike to the gazebo at the Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob.

  • Total hike length (out and back) is 1.4 miles.
  • This hike is rated moderate; 600′ elevation gain over 0.7 miles.

Please leave dogs at home so that all attendees can fully enjoy the experience. Thank you!
