August 5, 2025 LGLC Announces Completion of $9 Million Campaign and Raises $330,000 More for Land Protection at Annual Gala
Bolton Landing, NY – Nearly 300 guests gathered to celebrate the work of the Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) at its sold-out Gala held Friday, August 1 at the Fort William Henry Carriage House in Lake George.
LGLC Executive Director Mike Horn welcomed guests and kicked off the evening’s program with the stunning announcement that, thanks to the support of many of those in the room, the LGLC met its $9-million 2025 Land Campaign goal ahead of schedule.
Acknowledging this incredible generosity, Horn and event emcee, author and experiential keynote speaker Rick Tamlyn, invited guests to build on this momentum and continue the critical land protection efforts to protect Lake George. Overall, the evening raised an additional $330,000 to support the ongoing work of the LGLC to protect the land that protects Lake George.
“This has been an amazing evening!” said Horn. “I am continually astonished by the enthusiasm and passion of our supporters for land conservation at Lake George.”
Horn continued, “The success of this event would not have been possible without the generous support of the Honorary Committee, business sponsors, silent auction donors, and volunteers. We are extremely grateful for their contributions to this event.”
In addition to the fundraising portion of the evening, guests enjoyed music by Hey Neighbor!, a seated dinner, music, and dancing with DJ Trumastr. The evening also included a silent auction that featured pieces donated by local artists, including Al Rider, Andrew Thompson, Susan Beadle, Pam Siddall, Laurie Sapakoff, Wendy Soliday, Seddon Beaty, Susan Darrin, Kathleen Becker, Ivor Guest, Brenda Rider, and Kat Cramer.
The event was held at the beautiful Fort William Henry Carriage House, providing a perfect setting to view the 517 acres of Pilot Knob Mountain purchased by the LGLC on July 29. The permanent protection of Pilot Knob Mountain was a keystone project in the LGLC’s 2025 Land Campaign, which also includes the protection of more than 700 acres in the Indian Brook and Northwest Bay area of Bolton. Together, these forested lands have 2.8 miles of streams and more than 26 acres of wetlands that are critical to maintaining Lake George’s exceptional water quality.
