The Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob is a beloved hiking destination for thousands of people and their dog hiking companions. To celebrate this special group of preserve users, and to promote our Gazebo Reconstruction Project, the LGLC is sponsoring a special dog photo contest!

CONTEST RULES

Submit your photo: Send a photo of you and your dog to Giulia Casella at gcasella@lglc.org by August 1st.

The photo should showcase your pup in nature, and implementing Leave No Trace Principles on our trails! Please include the name of your dog and a description of your photo for social media.

Contest: On Monday, August 5th, LGLC will share all photos of submitted dogs to their Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to follow us at @hikelakegeorge to join in on the fun!

Spread the Word: Photos with the most social engagement will win. Engagement will count as likes on individual photos, comments voting for your dog (limit to one comment a day), tagging friends on the picture you’d like to win, or sharing the post to your profile and tagging @hikelakegeorge.

Yappy Hour: Finalists will be invited to join us at the Yappy Hour, a puptail hour for hikers and their dogs to cheer on their fellow contestants and make new friends. The Yappy Hour will take place on August 23rd, from 5-7 PM.

ELIGIBILTY

Eligibility: The contest is open to everyone. There is no age limit, but participants under 18 must have parental consent.

Original Photos: All entries must be original photos taken by the participant. Professional photos are not eligible.

Entries: Each participant can submit only one photo per dog.

Submission Period: Photos must be sent to Giulia at gcasella@lglc.org by August 1st to qualify for the contest.
