Amy’s Race – Volunteers Needed

Volunteer for the LGLC’s 7th Annual Amy’s Adventure Race for the Lake!

Each fall, the LGLC’s NextGen committee hosts Amy’s Race, a trail race that offers racers a beautiful glimpse of one of our preserves while also raising money for land and water conservation. To make sure things run smoothly, we need help from volunteers! For a full list of volunteer opportunities, please see below.

When: We welcome your help on either September 28th for trail marking, or on September 30th for race-day duties. Starting and ending times for race-day volunteering vary slightly, but all jobs will start between 6:30-7:00 AM and will be over by 11:00 AM.

What: All volunteer opportunities are below. Please email Giulia Casella at gcasella@lglc.org if you have any questions about the requirements of each job.

• Trail marking (Thursday, September 28 @ 10:00 AM-12:00 PM)- 3 volunteers required
• Parking (Saturday, September 30 @ 7:00-9:00 AM)- 3 volunteers required
• Food set-up (Saturday, September 30 @ 6:30-10:00 AM)- 2 volunteers required
• Registration/Merch sales (Saturday, September 30 @ 6:30-11:00 AM)- 4 volunteers required
• Medals distribution (Saturday, September 30 @ 6:30-11:00 AM)- 2 volunteers required
• Water station (Saturday, September 30 @ 6:30-11:00 AM)- 6 volunteers required
• Directional attendant (Saturday, September 30 @ 6:30-11:00 AM)- 5 volunteers required
• Race sweeper (Saturday, September 30 @ 7:00-11:00 AM)- 2 volunteers required; requires walking the whole race (4.5 miles + ~700 ft of elevation gain)
• Beverages (Saturday, September 30 @ 6:30-11:00 AM)- 2 volunteers required
• Photographer (Saturday, September 30 @ 7:00-11:00 AM)- 1 volunteer required; photography experience required

Registration is required for all volunteers. Please be sure to dress appropriately based on weather conditions.
