Join us and ornithologist and educator Alan Belford for an annual favorite – a evening/night-time hike in search of owls at Amy’s Park. Learn the different sounds of the common species of owls found in the area and listen carefully as we try to meet some up close. In addition, Alan will identify and teach about all of the different bird and duck species living at the Park.
The walk will take place in the evening from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. to improve the chances of sighting an owl. It is not required to stay for the whole walk. While out, you may also hear things like American Bittern and Virginia Rail at this time of year.
Approx. 1-2 miles round-trip, easy/moderate hike (actual length of hike depends on registrants and weather conditions). Registration required. Headlamps, sturdy shoes/hiking boots recommended.
Fee: $10 per person
