Kids’ Scavenger Hunt and Hike Continues in Amazing Race Style

For Immediate Release: July 28, 2017

Bolton Landing, NY – The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) is hosting its 3rd annual scavenger hunt and hike for kids on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Organized by 13-year-old Auggie Bhavsar of Huletts Landing, this year’s hike has been designed in the style of the popular reality TV show, The Amazing Race, plus has an educational focus on Lake George history.

The hike is ideal for kids aged 7 – 13; parents can drop their kids off at the LGLC office in Bolton Landing. All participants will then be shuttled to the trail head for a moderate 1 mile hike up the Pinnacle. Parents are welcome to join or head into Bolton for lunch and shopping.

The hike will start with an introduction to compass and map skills during check-in, and continue with a team scavenger hunt including Lake George history-themed clues along the trail. Hikers will eat their lunches on the top of the Pinnacle. Prizes will be provided for participants.

Participants should come prepared with a packed lunch, sunscreen and bug spray, water and proper, close-toed shoes for hiking. The hike is free, but RSVP is required by Friday, August 4th. To sign up, call 518-644-9673 or email hbartonbenedict@lglc.org.
