Saturday, June 29th at Amy’s Park join us for a morning walk to learn about the diverse array of birds found in Amy’s Park!
This year’s birding trip will be led by Ornithologist and Licensed Guide Alan Belford, who is back by popular demand after leading several excellent birding walks through Amy’s Park the past couple of years!
Learn how to find and identify the different bird and duck species found in the area based on appearance and noise. Listen carefully as Alan teaches the different calls that Adirondack birds can make! Morning is the perfect time to go looking for birds because birds sleep at night and are hungry when they wake up in the morning- The early bird really does catch the worm!
No bathrooms will be available at Amy’s, please plan accordingly. All participants will be required to fill out a waiver prior. Event is subject to cancellation due to weather.
Suggested Gear:
Sturdy walking shoes or hiking books
Binoculars
Weather Appropriate Outerwear
Snacks/Water
The Trail:
The walk around Amy’s Park is about 3 miles of mainly flat road (Padanarum to Trout Falls) around the ponds. Depending on conditions and timing, the route might loop back to the trailhead on Amy’s trail which is an easy, sloped and wooded one-track trail. Binoculars are recommended to get a better look at the birds.
