Help remove invasive species at Cook Mountain to keep the ecosystem healthy and resilient!
We will be removing the invasive honeysuckle from Cook Mountain in order to promote plant and animal diversity. Non-native honeysuckle species outcompete and prevent the growth of native plant species by shading out understory growth, covering native trees, and depleting soil nutrients. Because native honeysuckle fruits are more nutritious, this can also have negative effects on the animals that consume honeysuckles.
