LGLC Welcomes Janice Reynen, Announces Other Staff and Board Changes

Bolton Landing, NY – The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) is pleased to welcome Janice Reynen as the organization’s Events and Fundraising Coordinator. This position was vacated by Giulia Casella, who has moved into the role of Operations and Finance Manager after the retirement of Cornelia Wells.

Mrs. Reynen will be leading the LGLC’s events, which strengthen relationships and educate the community about the importance of land protection work in maintaining Lake George’s water quality and preserving the character of the Lake George region. She will also assist with year-round fundraising efforts that enable us to protect the land that protects the Lake.

LGLC Executive Director Michael Horn said, “Janice brings terrific skills, diverse experience, a constructive approach, and a life-long love of Lake George. She is a great addition to the LGLC team.”

Mrs. Reynen has extensive experience in communications, marketing, and design, and has a multi-generational connection to Lake George. A year-round resident of Silver Bay, NY, she graduated from Wittenberg University with a Biology degree, and owned her own graphic design company for eight years.

Janice Reynen has joined the LGLC team as Events and Fundraising Coordinator.

Mrs. Reynen said, “I have always loved the LGLC’s mission and am thrilled that this opportunity availed itself at the perfect time. My past work and personal experiences match up so nicely enabling me to slide right into this well-run organization.”

Mrs. Reynen is filling a position previously held by Giulia Casella, who has shifted roles at the LGLC and is now serving as Operations and Finance Manager. This transition follows the retirement of Cornelia Wells, who worked for 18 years as the LGLC’s Finance and Office Manager.

“I’m looking forward to digging into the day-to-day operations,” said Ms. Casella, “and advancing new opportunities for the team and for our mission.”

Mr. Horn said, “As much as we will miss Cornelia and all that she brought to the LGLC, I am equally excited for the opportunities ahead with Giulia and Janice.”

Mrs. Wells received the LGLC’s prestigious Rowan Award in August in recognition for her commitment and her contribution to the LGLC’s work as it protects the land that protects Lake George.

In accepting the award, Mrs. Wells said, “It has been a privilege for me to work at the Land Conservancy, and I’m hoping that my being there helped to advance the mission — that’s been my goal, to protect the land that protects the lake. It is a lake I have loved all my life.”

Changes Within the LGLC Board of Directors

In August, the LGLC Board of Directors voted to elect Bobby Von Werne as Vice President of Development, and Patty HasBrouck as Secretary. They had each held office positions previously, but switched roles for new 3-year terms.

In addition, Lake George resident Elizabeth Avery, and Silver Bay resident Elizabeth Guest, were each elected to the Board, and Jiné Andreozzi was appointed to the Advisory Board.

Elizabeth Avery’s great grandfather purchased a summer cottage on the East side of Lake George 113 years ago that six generations of her family still enjoy today. As a child, she was taught that Lake George is both a great gift and a great responsibility. She is delighted to contribute to protecting the lake via service to the LGLC, first on the LGLC Advisory Board and now as a Director. Ms. Avery retired two years ago, having served as Senior Vice President of Global Public Policy for PepsiCo and then Chief Executive Officer of SNAC International, a food industry trade association. When she was not on a plane, she worked in Washington, DC and metro New York City. Today, she and her husband Alex enjoy summers at the shared family cottage and at their townhouse at Top of the World. They otherwise reside on Spring Island in the low country of South Carolina. She has a track record of service on boards on a wide range of topics from international relations to childhood hunger to habitat preservation. She has Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from Bucknell University.

Elizabeth Guest has rejoined the Board after being on the Advisory Board for one year. Prior to that, she had served nine years on the LGLC Board. Mrs. Guest has been a lifetime summer resident of Silver Bay, a fact which greatly influenced and guided her path in life. In 2000, the Guest family gifted a conservation easement on their 59 acres to LGLC, a gift that resulted in their induction as a founding member into LGLC’s Apperson Society. Ms. Guest graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY with a BA in business and math. Following a career at Sotheby’s auction house in New York City, Ms. Guest founded Elizabeth Guest Interiors LLC in 1996, with a primary focus on high-end residential design.

Jiné Andreozzi is the Executive Director of YMCA Camp Chingachgook in Pilot Knob, where she is able to utilize her passion for camp and the outdoors with her educational background in marketing, management, and graphic design. She also serves as the newly elected Chair of the LGLC’s Next Gen Committee. Ms. Andreozzi’s love of the outdoors started with her experience as a camper at Camp Chingachgook, and she returned to Chingachgook full time in April 2015 after having been the Communications and Marketing Coordinator for American Camp Association, New England. Ms. Andreozzi has worked in the camp and outdoor recreation industry seasonally and full-time for the past 18 years. She is originally from Albany, NY, and is a graduate of Ithaca College.
