Yappy Hour, Hike, and Yoga to Benefit Pilot Knob Gazebo

Bolton Landing, NY – The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) is hosting three public events to bring awareness and help raise funds for its gazebo reconstruction project at the Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob.

On Friday, August 23, the LGLC is hosting a free Yappy Hour event at the Lake George Dog Park, from 5-7 pm. Guests can come and meet fellow dog-owners and enjoy refreshments while their dogs play. A basket raffle and gazebo merchandise will be available. The event will also feature the announcement of our Dog Photo Contest, currently underway. The winner will receive a photo shoot at the gazebo and be on the cover of the LGLC’s fall-winter newsletter.

On Saturday, August 24, NYS Licensed Hiking Guide and co-owner of the Lake George Outdoors Initiative Sarah Haley will lead a 3.5-mile round-trip hike at the Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob. This hike will include the lesser-known but beautiful trail to the seasonal waterfall. This hike is a great option for those wishing to learn more about best practices on the trail, tips for outdoor fitness, or for those who are just looking to get into hiking.

On Saturday, September 21, Kirill Gron of Seela Yoga will lead a hike and yoga session on the summit of Pilot Knob. This outing includes the 30-minute moderate hike up Pilot Knob’s trail to the gazebo/meadow, followed by 30 minutes of guided yoga surrounded by autumn’s beauty.

More information about these events and registration links can be found at LGLC.org/calendar.
